About Jess

Hello!

Visual Storyteller • Illustrator • Photographer • Animal Advocate

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based in Washougal, Washington, and the creator of Fuzzy Butt Pet Photography, a pet-centered photography studio and creative sanctuary along the Columbia River. Here, I capture portraits that celebrate the bond between humans and the animals who shape our lives. Over the years, my photographic imagery has earned recognition internationally, including PX3, the International Photography Awards, the International Pet Photography Awards, but the heart of my work has always remained the same: honoring love in its purest form.

Beyond photography, I am an illustrator and painter drawn to themes of identity, whimsy, and creature mythology. My art blends realism with imagination, expression with narrative. Whether I’m working on an editorial-style portrait, a stylized animal illustration, or a richly layered character piece, I aim to reflect the soul of the subject on my canvas in a colorful and creative way.

In 2026, I was accepted into the MFA Illustration program at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with dual merit scholarships recognizing artistic excellence and my ongoing work supporting animal rescues. This next chapter expands my long-held devotion to visual storytelling and deepens my commitment to creating art that resonates emotionally, tells truths, and offers escape, comfort, or connection.

I believe art should be alive, full of movement, compassion, curiosity, and honesty. More than just elicit a reaction, it should elicit the right reactions, the reactions worth living for - happiness, love, joy, laughter and heart. The animals who find their way into my work, both real and imagined, are more than subjects; they are collaborators, teachers, and mirrors reflecting the stories we often struggle to tell ourselves.

Thank you for being here. Whether you’re seeking artwork, illustrations, or a portrait session with your soul dog, I hope my work brings you a moment of joy, grounding, or wonder.
